D of E

The Duke of Edinburgh Award is an award recognised internationally and the ATC is proud to incorporate it into cadet training. It is split into three sections – Bronze, Silver and Gold, and each stage increases in its difficulty. Each award consists of 4 elements – Service, Physical, Skill and Expedition.

When it comes to Gold you must also do a Residential element. The award is a great way to explore and have a lot of fun. It helps you develop as a person and as part of teamwork (particularly with the Expedition), as well as extending your skills. 2397 (Devizes) squadron endeavours to keep cadets in the D of E scheme and train them in navigation, hiking and survival skills.

Further information can be found on the D of E website http://www.dofe.org/  or by talking to a member of staff.
